HAMILTON — Community Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Colgate University collaborated to promote breast cancer awareness during October for faculty and staff.

The two neighboring organizations say they are also using this opportunity to promote wellness and educate more community members about the services and programs available in Hamilton.

In preparation for this month, CMH reported implementing a new pre-registration process to make the patient experience more seamless from start to finish. This new process includes access to pre-registration forms on the CMH website, a private waiting area for mammography patients, and an easy, private transition to additional imaging services if needed.

“Community Memorial is proud to partner with Colgate to promote Breast Cancer Awareness. Our team of radiologists and mammography technicians hold multiple certifications and are compassionate, caring professionals,” commented Jeff Coakley, president and CEO of Community Memorial. “I view Colgate and CMH as partners that support health and wellness throughout our community.”

CMH stated the organization is excited to partner with Colgate and its Wellness Program, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle for its faculty and staff members.

“It is a benefit to our faculty and staff to have access to quality health care right here in Hamilton. It saves them time from having to travel for services, such as breast cancer screenings,” said Amy Ryan, director of Benefits and Employee Wellness at Colgate. “Community Memorial is accessible and keeps the process easy for patients while ensuring quality is top of mind. We are excited to continue to partner with our neighbors to promote health and wellness services.”

Community Memorial encourages all women over the age of 40 to get their annual screenings for breast cancer. Mammography imaging is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., by appointment.
