UTICA — The Utica Comets and the American Hockey League announced the 2019-20 regular season schedule on Wednesday, with the team beginning the season on the road.
The Comets’ seventh season starts with a pair of road games on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Binghamton Devils and Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Utica will open up the home portion of the schedule with a four-game homestand starting Wednesday, Oct. 16 against the Syracuse Crunch.
The Comets’ home schedule includes 18 Friday games and a total of 26 weekend games.
Additionally, the Comets will play a 3 p.m. matinee at home on Veteran’s Day and a 5 p.m. contest on New Year’s Eve.
For a fourth consecutive season, Utica and Syracuse will battle 12 times to determine the Galaxy Cup winner.
Utica’s longest road trip comes in late January to early February, a total of four games over 12 days in three cities. The longest homestand of the year is five games long, spanning eight days in mid-January.
The regular season ends with a game on the road on Saturday, April 11, against Syracuse..
Individual game tickets will go on sale Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at the the box office at the Utica Auditorium and at noon online at www.empirestatetix.com.
A full promotional schedule will be released later this summer, according to team officials.
