The Vancouver Canucks, the parent club of the Utica Comets of the AHL, have signed forward Reid Boucher to a one-year, two-way deal and defensemen Brogan Rafferty and Josh Teves each to two-year, two-way contracts.
Boucher, 25, recorded 62 points (31 goals) in 56 games played, leading the Comets in scoring last season.
In 133 career NHL games with Vancouver, Nashville and New Jersey, the Lansing, Mich. native has produced 20 goals and 22 assists.
Boucher was the Comets MVP last season and participated in the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic.
Rafferty, 24, made his professional debut with Vancouver on Apr. 4 at Nashville. He signed an entry-level contract with Vancouver on April 1.
In 2018-19, Rafferty appeared in 38 games for Quinnipiac University and collected 24 points (4 goals). The 6-foot, 195-pound defenseman ranked seventh on the Bobcats, and third among defensemen in scoring. In three seasons with Quinnipiac, Rafferty accumulated 60 points (9 goals) in 108 games.
Teves, 24, made his professional debut with Vancouver on March 26 agsinst Anaheim. He signed an entry-level contract with Vancouver on March 12.
In 2018-19, Teves led all Princeton Tigers defensemen in scoring with 20 points (3 goals) in 30 games. The 6-foot, 180-pound defenseman also ranked third on the team in shots on goal (74) and power play assists (10).
Comets to play Crunch in home opener
The Comets announced this year’s home opener — Oct. 16 against the Syracuse Crunch. The team’s season debut will be on the road against the Binghamton Devils on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The entire schedule for all AHL teams is to be announced today. Teams play 76 regular season games each. The Comets missed the playoffs last season, going 34-34-8.
Season tickets are still available, and individual game tickets go on sale Sept. 7.
