BINGHAMTON — The Utica Comets suffered their third straight American Hockey League loss at the hands of the Binghamton Devils, 4-2, on Wednesday night at Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.
Dyson Stevenson earned his first career AHL goal for the Comets and goalie Zane McIntyre made 35 saves in net, but it wasn’t enough as Utica’s record fell to 8-3. The Comets had opened the season with eight straight wins/
The Devils led 2-0 in the first period before Stevenson found the back of the net on a rebound goal to make it 2-1.
The Comets tied the game in the second period on a backhand goal by Nikolay Goldobin off assists from Brogan Rafferty and Justin Bailey.
The Devils scored a pair of goals in the third period to prevail.
Binghamton goalie Louis Domingue stopped 16 shots.
Utica hosts the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday in a 7 p.m. puck drop at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
