Enos helps SUNY Oswego take title

OSWEGO — The second-seeded SUNY Oswego baseball team, including Ryan Enos of Oriskany, beat top-seeded Cortland 11-7 on Monday for its third straight tournament title. Enos earned MVP honors on the All-Championship Team.

Enos, a sophomore, drove in runs in two late at-bats to help seal the win.

In the eighth inning, with two on and two outs, Enos tried to call a timeout. When the umpire did not grant the timeout Enos blasted a home run to make it a 8-4 Laker lead. An inning later, Enos singled to center to drive in Oswego’s final run.

The team earned the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA championship, the Lakers’ fifth straight appearance.

Oswego awaits its NCAA championship placement which will be released Monday.
