HAMILTON — For the second consecutive week, Colgate’s sophomore outside hitter Abby Shadwick has been named the Patriot League Volleyball Player of the Week.

Shadwick recorded her third straight double-double in Colgate’s 3-1 win over Loyola last Saturday with 13 kills and 10 digs. She picked up right where she left off last week, posting a team-best 27 kills (3.86 KPS) to go with a stellar .314 hitting percentage in two wins.

Shadwick helped Colgate improve to 9-3 on the year with another weekend sweep – this time against Patriot League opponents to start 2-0 in conference play. The Raiders have won seven in a row, a winning streak that started with a win over Tennessee in Raleigh, N.C.

The sophomore star registered 14 kills and added four digs in Colgate’s 3-0 sweep over American in a Patriot League championship rematch on Saturday. In seven sets played the week, Shadwick averaged 4.43 points, 3.86 kills, 2.0 digs, 0.43 blocks, and 0.29 assists per set.

Colgate (9-3, 2-0 Patriot) is back on the road this weekend for two Patriot League contests at Lafayette (Saturday) and Bucknell (Sunday). First serves are set for 4 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
