I am Coco, a new arrival at the shelter, coming in January (I was a stray). I am only 1½ years old but a big girl. I am a Pit Bull mix, gentle, lovable and I crave attention. I would do wonderfully well as the only fur baby in someone’s home (no cats or other dogs).
I would be particularly protective of my owners and my space. I enjoy car rides and walk well on a harness. I love going for walks but I may tire someone out first! I do have a favorite toy, it’s a large stuffed wiener dog that I carry around in my mouth.
What else can I tell everyone about me? Oh I love to take baths! I don’t have to be asked twice to jump into the tub! I enjoy bubbles, back rubs, belly scratches, rinse offs you name it. I am a sweetheart and will make someone very happy.
Thank you, Winston! Love, Coco
Thank you for writing. I am sorry you were living life as a stray out on the streets during this terribly cold weather. Thankfully you are in a safe, warm place until someone adopts you, which I am hoping won’t be too long from now. Good luck!

Cat’s Pride Litter Program
The Humane Society of Rome participates in the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good Program. And, so far, the shelter has received 4,000 pounds of cat litter due to nominations from the community.
This is an ongoing promotion. The more nominations, the more litter we receive.
Litter as you can imagine, is a great expense for us, so this would be a wonderful savings for our shelter.
The public is invited to participate as follows:
1. Go to catspride.com and sign up for the free Cat’s Pride Club
2. Click on the “Nominate” button to help us receive litter.
3. Enter bonus code: 4GOOD and you will double your shelter nomination.

Purina points weight circles
Help the Humane Society of Rome earn points when you purchase Purina brand products, and collect weight circles. Simply cut and save the circles from participating Purina brand dog foods you have purchased and bring to the shelter.
We save the weight circles and submit in bulk. Purina will send the Humane Society a check good towards future purchase of dog food. This saves the shelter the large amount on food.
The Humane Society has the perfect gifts for those you love who may be hard to buy for — a wide variety of colorful T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and other items that are simply purrfect for animal lovers. And, when you buy from the Humane Society, you also help our cats and dogs.
