Closure planned for portion of Route 5S on Saturday
FRANKFORT — The state Department of Transportation has announced a portion of Route 5S westbound — from the exit ramp to Main Street (Acme Road) and the entrance ramp from Main Street, (Acme Road) — on Saturday May 13. The closure is necessary to facilitate pavement rehabilitation work, the DOT said.
Motorists will be directed to take the exit to Main Street (Acme Road) and follow the signed detour to the westbound State Route 5S entrance ramp.
The detour is approximately a half mile.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
