Clinton Symphony Orchestra concert set for May 21


CLINTON — The second concert of the Clinton Symphony Orchestra of the Mohawk Valley’s 2021-22 season will feature Grammy-award winning violinist Yvonne Lam. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the Clinton Schools Performing Arts Complex, 75 Chenango Ave.

Music Director Maestro Octavio Más-Arocas will conduct the performance and will present a pre-concert lecture beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The program will open with Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s energetic Capriccio Espagnol, Op. 3, followed by Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto, Op. 14, featuring Lam as soloist.

Following intermission, Antonin Dvorak’s cheerful Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Op. 88 will close the concert.

Open seating tickets for the concert are $35 for adults and free for all students (college students need ID).
