CLINTON — Clinton Central School’s annual Clinton Fine Arts & Crafts Festival, originally scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6, has been canceled due to lack of vendor interest, event organizers said.

Sponsored and hosted by the Clinton High School Arts Department, organizers said they hope to move the show to a new location next year.

“Unfortunately the show is a no-go this year,” said Clinton High School art teacher Angelo Gaetano. “We were only able to get half our vendors. Usually we’d get around 80 vendors, and this year we were only able to get 40. Considering advertising costs, as well as security and custodial staff, we just can’t run the show.”

Gaetano said organizers also didn’t want to present a show with such limited participation by vendors.

“We don’t know what will happen next year, but we’re hoping that someone else takes over the festival and that it will have a new location,” he said.
