LETTER: Clinton Chamber of Commerce responds to comments

In light of the recent Rome Sentinel article directed at the Village of Clinton, its residents, merchants and Clinton Mayor, Elizabeth Tantillo, we were prompted to respond as the Board of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce.

Our Board members were quite surprised by the comments made in the article as we have noted that when Clinton is spoken of, among the characteristics most often mentioned is its charm and welcoming manner toward everyone. In addition, the Chamber has partnered, and will continue to partner, with the Village and its Officials on any number of events and special occasions and has received nothing but encouragement.

That being said, the Board of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce would like to go on record that it stands in support of the Village of Clinton and our community-as-a-whole and is proud to do so.

— Board of Directors, Clinton Chamber of Commerce
