Clinton earned the fourth seed in the Section III Division 2 boys ice hockey postseason, with five seed Whitesboro and six seed New Hartford to host qualifier games.

Clinton boys earn No. 4 seed in Section III ice hockey playoffs
Clinton earned the fourth seed in the Section III Division 2 boys ice hockey postseason, with five seed Whitesboro and six seed New Hartford to host qualifier games. Rome Free Academy is the five seed in Division 1, and Mohawk Valley — the nine seed — will open on the road tonight.
In Division 1, RFA (12-5-3) has a first round bye. Mohawk Valley (4-14) will play at 6:45 Tuesday night at eight seed Cazenovia at SUNY Morrisville.
There are two other qualifiers in the division Tuesday night. Six seed Ontario Bay (10-8) hosts 11 seed Watertown IHC (6-12-2) at 7:30 and seven seed Fayetteville-Manlius (6-10-4) hosts 10 seed Liverpool (4-15-1) at 5:45.
The top four seeds will host quarterfinals against RFA and the three winners of the qualifier games. RFA will play four seed Cicero-North Syracuse (7-11-1) at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Midstate Athletic Community Center. Three seed Syracuse (7-11-1) plays Friday at 7 p.m. Two seed West Genesee (17-3) hosts a game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Top-seeded Baldwinsville (17-1-1-) hosts at game at 7:35 p.m. Thursday.
In Division 2, Whitesboro (6-14) hosts eight seed Auburn (2-16-2) at 6:30 Tuesday night. New Hartford (9-10-1) hosts seven seed Oswego (7-12-1) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The lowest seed to advance will play at three seed Christian Brothers Academy/Jamesville-DeWitt (13-7) at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The other seed to advance from qualifiers will play at Clinton (10-10) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The top two seeds will host semifinal games Tuesday, Feb. 21. Top seed Skaneateles (17-3) plays at 6:30 p.m. and second-seeded Cortland/Homer (17-3) plays at 7 p.m.
RFA wins at Cazenovia
RFA won its regular season finale 5-3 at Cazenovia Friday.
John Sharrino scored twice and had an assist for the Black Knights. Jake Premo scored and had two helpers. Tyler Wilson had a goal and an assist. Brandon Natale also scored. Carmen Orton logged two assists and Logan Waterman and Johnny Wilson had one each.
In net for RFA, Donte Sparace made 23 saves to earn the win.
Cazenovia’s Forrest Ives scored and two assists. Logan Hall and Jack Donlin also scored.
Ezra Stillberg had 14 saves in the loss.
