Clerk accused of selling alcohol to minor
LOWVILLE — A clerk at Parkway Liquors in Lowville has been charged with selling alcohol to a minor following an underage drinking sting operation, according to the New York State Police.
Troopers said they conducted the underage drinking sweep at several convenience and liquor stores in Lowville, Greig, Leyden, West Turin and Watson on Aug. 23. Eleven of the tested stores did not sell alcohol to minors.
Brenda K. Ashline, 58, of Carthage, Jefferson County, an employee at Parkway Liquors on Parkway Drive in Lowville, is charged with one count each of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a minor and prohibited sale of alcohol, troopers said. She is scheduled to appear in court.
