City schedules meetings on Business Assistance Fund


The city will host informational meetings on the Business Assistance Fund, a development grant program through Rome’s state Downtown Revitalization Initiative award, according to a release from City Hall.

“The Business Assistance Fund (BAF) will provide funding to strengthen and make necessary improvements for Downtown businesses and buildings within the DRI target area,” read the release.

“Projects should not only benefit the applying business but impact the downtown as a whole,” the city’s announcement added.

Meetings are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 7 at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10 at noon, Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m., and Thursday, Jan. 24 at noon in the Common Council chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 198 N. Washington St.

Applications must be completed and submitted by Friday, Feb. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
