City ends bulk green waste pickup

Posted

The City of Rome Department of Public Works has concluded its bulk leave collection service. The department has, however, begun its containerized collection of green waste.

To dispose of green waste, residents must now place their green waste in either 30-gallon containers or 30-gallon, 100-percent biodegradable lawn and leaf paper bags available for purchase at most local retailers. No plastic bags will be accepted.

Large limbs or branches must be broken down to fit within containers. Green waste should not include rocks, asphalt, concrete, plastic planting containers, or any other inorganic materials.
