Cinema screens ‘See How They Run,’ ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’

ROME — Cinema Capitol, 230 W. Dominick St., will screen “All Quiet on the Western Front,” starting Friday, Oct. 21.

Show times are Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 3:45 and 7 p.m.; Oct. 23 and 30 at 12:45 and 4 p.m.; and Oct. 24 and 31 at 7 p.m.

“All Quiet on the Western Front” tells the gripping story of a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I.

Paul and his comrades experience first-hand how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight for their lives, and each other, in the trenches.

The film from director Edward Berger is based on the world-renowned bestseller of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque.

“All Quiet on the Western Front” runs 170 minutes and is rated R.

In the West End of 1950s London, plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered.

When world-weary Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) takes on the case, the two find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid theater underground, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own peril.

“See How They Run” runs 98 minutes and is rated PG-13.

Tickets are $8; $7 for students and military, and $6 for Capitol “Friends.”
