Rome Cinema has just “enhanced the movie-going experience” with the installation of 24-inch wide “luxury plush” reclining seats in its theaters, said Chairman and President Conrad Zurich.
“Moviegoers can lean back and relax as they enjoy a premium recliner that features an automated push button recline mechanism and superior leg room for extra comfort,” Zurich said in his announcement.
The new seats are 7 inches wider than the original seats at the theater. With the length of the old seats at 36 inches, the luxury plush seats provide 6 feet “from back row to back row” of aisle space, Zurich said. They are also recliners, so the seats include a foot rest where feet can lie parallel to the floor.
“We sat in the chairs while attending a movie convention and the response was very good,” Zurich said. “One thing they (customers) like is the sight line to the screen. Now there’s 6 feet in front of a row, not three, so heads are not in the way.”
Several blockbusters are expected to be released in the coming months, like “Beauty and the Beast,” “Logan” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” and the cinema owner said it’s a good time to try out the new recliners.
In addition to the new seats, Rome Cinema is offering $5 movie tickets for all show times before noon during the upcoming winter break from school.
Moviegoers can “kick back in the new recliners and take advantage of the ultimate movie viewing experience and wide selection of films that the Rome Cinema offers,” Zurich said.
Other upcoming movies include “The Lego Batman Movie,” “Fifty Shades Darker,” “King Kong: Skull Island,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “The Fate of the Furious.”
“With all the fabulous movies being released we hope that everyone will come out and experience the thrills and escapism that only movies can offer,” Zurich said.
