Cinema Capitol screens ‘Chevalier’

ROME — Cinema Capitol, 230 W. Dominick St., will screen “Chevalier” starting Friday, May 26.

The film will run on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 26-June 5. Times are 4 and 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 1 and 4 p.m. Sundays; and 7 p.m. Mondays.

“Chevalier” is the incredible true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges.

The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr. in a tour de force performance) rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with an ill-fated love affair and a falling out with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and her court. 

Tickets are $8; $7 for students and military, and $6 for Capitol Friends.
