The Redeemer Church will be distributing food to 500 families in Rome Monday morning, with assistance from the city’s police and fire departments.
Church officials will work alongside Rome police officers and firefighters to hand out frozen meat, along with rice and vegetables, to 500 families. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rome Free Academy on Dart Circle.
“Our first responders do so much for our community, and this is just another example of how they love and serve our city 24/7,” church officials said in a release.
Families in need are invited to the event, according to the church announcement.
