Church readies care cases for foster children

Members of St. John Lutheran Church, 502 W. Chestnut St., plan to gather at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 31, to assemble packages for foster children in the Oneida County region as part of an initiative called Care Case.

The church has been collecting items the children may need, such as backpacks, toiletries, books, duffle bags, crayons, and water bottles donated by members and friends of St. John’s, and will assemble them into packages for delivery. Handwritten notes will be written to be tucked into the packages.

More volunteers are welcome; call 315-336-8090 if you wish to donate or attend. Homemade soup, rolls and dessert will be served to the workers.
