Chimney fire doused in Clayville
CLAYVILLE — A home on Church Road in Clayville was spared extensive damage following a chimney fire Wednesday evening, according to the Clayville Fire Department.
Fire officials said the alarm was raised at 6:43 p.m. for reports of a chimney fire on Church Road. Responding firefighters found smoke billowing from the chimney, with fire having spread into the wall on the second floor of the home.
Using a water can, officials said they doused the flames and kept them from spreading any further. The fire damage was contained to the chimney and a small section of wall, with minimal water damage to the home.
A tower truck was then used to sweep the chimney, officials said. No one was injured.
