Cherish the Ladies to perform Dec. 3 at Irish Cultural Center


UTICA — The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley, 623 Columbia St., Utica, will present Cherish the Ladies – A Celtic Christmas, at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3.

Cherish the Ladies is an award-winning traditional Irish music ensemble who will bring their Irish Christmas show to the area.

It is an all-Christmas music show featuring traditional American and Irish Christmas music. The line-up of musicians:

Joanie Madden — Flute Whistles, Harmony Vocals

Mary Coogan — Guitar, Mandolin

Mirella Murray — Accordion

Nollaig Casey — Fiddle

Gabriel Donohue — Piano, Vocals

Cathie Ryan — Lead Vocals

Bruce Foley — Vocals, Uilleann Pipes

Noel Spillane — Step Dancer (3rd in the worlds)

Under the leadership of National Heritage Award winner and All-Ireland flute and whistle champion Joanie Madden, named by The Irish Voice Newspaper as one of the Top 25 most influential Irish Americans of the past quarter century, these musicians promise to create an evening that includes a spectacular blend of virtuoso instrumental talents, beautiful vocals, captivating arrangements, and stunning step dancing.

Their continued success as one of the top Celtic groups in the world is due to the ensemble’s ability to take the best of Irish traditional music and dance and put it forth in an immensely entertaining show.

Proof of vaccination along with a photo ID will be required for admittance, masks are encouraged. Those who cannot provide proof or who are unvaccinated will be asked to wear a mask at all times.
