Charlotte Mack, 86, of Whitesboro, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on February 16, 1936, in New York Mills, a daughter of Simon and Mary (Hugick) Kiersztyn and graduated from New York Mills High School. On August 14, 1954, Charlotte was united in marriage to Jerome S. “Harry” Mack at St. John’s Church, Utica and shared a blessed union of 62 years until his passing on December 17, 2016. She started her working career as a retail clerk with Neisners in Whitesboro and retired from Walmart in North Utica as an assistant manager. Charlotte was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Whitestown American Legion Auxiliary Post 1113 and the VFW Post 3239.

She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid reader and generously gave her time to the care of her husband and family.

Surviving are her children, Frances (Richard) Knepka, Liverpool, Jerry (Darlene) Mack, Deerfield, Barbara (John) Salerno, Deerfield and Pauline Mack, Whitesboro; grandchildren, Kevin Mack (Laura Kalk and Eleanor) Deerfield, Steven Salerno, Washington, DC, Eric (Megen) Salerno, Maryland and Nicole Salerno, Philadelphia; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Hannah; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Kroll and Helen Fish, and brother, John Kiersztyn.

Charlotte’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to their friends and neighbors, especially the Achen family for all their wonderful care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited on Friday at 12 p.m. to St. Paul’s Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The family will greet guests immediately following the Mass. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus and St. Casimir Cemetery, Whitesboro. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro.
