Charles ‘Chuck’ S. Glinski

Posted

Charles Stanley Glinski, 79, of Rome, New York joined his late wife, Carole B. Glinski on July 22, 2022, after a battle with cancer.

Chuck, as he was known to family and friends, led a life of service as witnessed in his two career choices: retired Air Force Master Sergeant (26 years of active-duty service) and NY State Corrections Officer (20 years). His selfless service also extended to his family. Chuck was a consummate champion to his wife in her career as the Executive Director of the Rome Chapter of the American Red Cross and to his daughters’ professional and personal aspirations and achievements.

Chuck and Carole were most proud of their daughters, Tamara Becker, Samantha Weeks, and Dana Greenberg, and their influence is apparent in each daughter’s vocation and passion as they contribute to society through education, military service, and State government service. Chuck is survived by his brother, Stanley Glinski and his wife Linda, and children Lisa Voelker and Chris Glinski; daughters, Tamara, Samantha, and Dana; sons-in-law, Jeff Becker and Steve Broderick; grandsons, Ryan and Ethan Broderick; and Della Pray, who held a dear place in his heart — one akin to being his fourth daughter.

In life, Chuck was a man of few words who never wanted to be the center of attention, and in death we can expect nothing less. He wanted no funeral, visitation, or celebration of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to support one of the charities he donated to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Gary Sinise Foundation, and the Children’s First Foundation.

As we acknowledge the life and legacy of Chuck Glinski, the family asks you to raise a glass and toast the wholesomeness of the man we all knew and loved: Chuck, Dad, Uncle Chuck, or Ski.
