UTICA — The Boilermaker Road Race’s 2019 charity bib partners have been announced.
Chosen from a competitive pool of non-profit applicants, the 11 organizations are 315K for the Cure, Abraham House, ARC Herkimer, CABVI, Center for Leadership Excellence, David’s Refuge, Hospice and Palliative Care, Masonic Care Community, On My Team 16, Samaritan Counseling Center for the Mohawk Valley and Kids Oneida.
The organizations were selected by a committee of volunteers. Since its inception in 2013, the program has raised over $600,000 for area non-profits.
In addition, the Boilermaker will be conducting its third “Run for U” fundraising campaign during 2019 race registration after campaigns in 2017 and 2018 raised over $50,000 for the Boilermaker Urban Initiative. While registering for the Boilermaker, runners will have the option to make a donation to support the initiative.
The Boilermaker Urban Initiative is the organization’s community outreach arm which aims to improve the lives and health of Utica residents through the Boilermaker Urban Garden and Boilermaker Kids in Training programs which kicked off during the summer of 2017. Early-access registration for 2019 will begin at noon on Thursday, March 7 and open registration will begin at noon on Friday, March 15.
The 42nd running of the Boilermaker Road Race will take place on Sunday, July 14. The Boilermaker Road Race is a member of the PRRO Circuit.
