ROME — Michael and Carol Manuele were presented certificates of recognition in a ceremony at the Rome Area Chamber of Chamber offices on Wednesday, Dec. 7, by chamber Chairman John Calabrese.

“Carol and Mike have been strong leaders, not only in the financial institutions where they worked, but also in the community. Their contributions to our Rome Chamber of Commerce over the years have been significant, including each serving terms as the Chair of our Board of Directors,” Calabrese said. “We are extremely grateful to them both and congratulate them on their retirements.”

“I am fortunate to have been born and raised in the Rome community and to have been part of the AmeriCU family for almost 20 years,” said Michael Manuele, who has retired from AmeriCU as assistant vice president of financial center operations, Region A.

“For me, it’s incredibly important to give back to my community,” he said. “I’ve been doing that for most of my adult life in the forms of volunteering and participation on numerous boards and committees, and plan to continue doing just that. I have tried to instill the value of giving back to others; not just to my team, but especially to my grandchildren. This is their opportunity to help shape and strengthen their community.”

“Working in business banking I felt that it was important to be involved in organizations and committees that promote your community and businesses,” said Carol Manuele, who has retired from M&T Bank as vice president, business banking relationship manager.

“I have been very fortunate and I feel that It’s our duty to give back by contributing and leading by example,” she said. “Hopefully I have been able to instill the importance of volunteering to the next generation. It was a true honor to be involved with the Rome Chamber for 20 years.”

The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce provides business advocacy, community promotion, and encourages economic growth in Rome.
