The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce and the Professional and Business Women of Rome will present a National Business Women’s Week Forum event on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Capitol Theatre, 230 W. Dominick St.
Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the program will start at 8 a.m.

Robin Bridson, immediate past state president with NYS Women Inc., will speak on the history of National Business Women’s Week.
Also speaking on their backgrounds and experiences as successful women in leadership positions as well as providing appropriate remarks about the challenges and opportunities they are encountering in their professions will be:
• Jacqueline M. Izzo, Mayor of Rome;
• AnneMarie Walker-Czyz, president and CEO of Rome Health; and
• Heather Hage, president and CEO of the Griffiss Institute.
The Professional and Business Women of Rome will honor two first-responders with the Rome Police Department for the positive impact they have on the community with the Yellow Rose of Challenge Award:
• Lt. Sharon L. Rood; and
• Patrol Officer Alexzandra S. Carletta.
Art Pierce, executive director of the Capitol Theatre, will provide an update on the Capitol’s $2.5 million improvements, including the restoration of the historic marquee, which is expected to be completed this fall.

Adam Hovak, chairman of the board of the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, and Beth Jones, president of the Professional and Business Women of Rome, will preside during the forum, according to the Chamber of Commerce announcement.
