Chamber kicks off membership month


March is membership month at the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce, and businesses who join now will receive several
special perks, according to a chamber announcement.

In addition to all the usual benefits of Chamber membership, those who join during the 2019 membership drive will see their one-time, $30 membership fee waived, recieve two free ads in the Chamber’s electronic newsletter, and will get a chance to receive a banner ad on the Chamber’s website.

A new membership will be active though May 31, 2020.

Members are also listed in the Chamber’s directory and community quide, listed by name and by category online and in print. The Chamber says it publishes around 2,000 directories every year in respinse to inquiries. To appear in the 2019-2020 edition, prospective members must join before Thursday, April 4.

Membership gives business owners exclusive access to specialized tools to promote their organization via the online Membership Information Center.

In addition to benefits, members may join committees that suit their business needs and interests.

The Rome Area Chamber of Commerice is a voluntary association of businesses, professional and individuals that has been serving the community since 1912 through building a healthy business environment, promoting economic development and working effectively to improve the quality of life in the Rome area.

The Chamber is run by its members through its Board of Directors, elected by the membership to determine policies and set goals and direction. The Chamber also has a paid President who is hired by the Board and who handles the day-to-day operations of the Chamber. Other paid staff includes a Business Manager/Licensed Insurance Broker and an Information Manager.
