Rome Area Chamber of Commerce honors Bremer Hearing & Audiology

Bremer Hearing & Audiology, PLLC, 1300 Floyd Ave., No. 2, was named the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce Member of the Week.

Richard and Marilyn Bremer started the Hearing Aid Service of Utica in 1955 and Dr. James Bremer worked with his father at the office since he was 13 or 14-years-old. The Hearing Aid Service of Utica eventually changed to Central Hearing Consultants with offices in New Hartford, Rome, Auburn, Herkimer and Oswego.

Richard Bremer retired in 1994 and Dr. James Bremer tried to run the practice as his father did with emphasis on providing the best possible service, support and technology to their patients.

In 2007 the offices were sold to Hear USA and Dr. Bremer worked with the new owners for a period of time. In 2012 he decided to start Bremer Hearing & Audiology, PLLC, in New Hartford and Rome, with long-time associates Ellen Valeriano (40-plus years experience), Mary Hewitt (40-plus years experience; retired), Lisa Brown, and the newest staff member, Lily Flanders, they have been able to grow and enjoy working with their patients again.

Without the very dedicated and knowledgeable staff, Dr. Bremer said they would not be able to stay in business much less grow the business. They are now able to provide the best technology from all the top hearing aid manufacturers and being part of the Audnet/Marcon groups, are able to provide the very best pricing and warranties, saving patients hundreds of dollars or more. The family said they have always tried to do what is best for their patients.

Dr. Bremer is married to Patricia Flanders Bremer and they have three sons, Andrew, Quinn, and Jack. Quinn Bremer, the middle son, is currently in the Audiology Doctoral program at University at Buffalo and will be the third generation in the family business. The family has been providing the best in hearing health care for more than 65 years and hope for many more decades to come.
