ROME — The Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc. will host its Annual Tim Foley Recovery Classic Golf Tournament this year at Rome Country Club on Friday, Sept. 16. The event was named after Foley in recognition of his 25 years as a board member with Center for Family Life and Recovery and one of its predecessors, Mohawk Valley Council on Alcoholism/Addictions.

Foley, who is a practicing attorney, grew up in Utica and Old Forge. He has been in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction for more than 30 years, the CFLR announcement said, and he considers it a responsibility to share his story with others. He truly believes that when there is help there is hope, officials added.

This year’s tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and refreshments. At 9:30 a.m. there will be a shotgun start to signal the beginning of the tournament. The tournament will feature prizes, food trucks, side games, DJs and bands. Postgame prizes and a steak dinner will be offered once all golfers have turned in their scorecards.

Sign-up as a team for $500 per team or purchase an individual golf spot for $125. There are also sponsorship opportunities.
