Mr. and Mrs. James Burke, Yorkland Road, Taberg, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at a surprise party hosted by Brenda Hendrick at the American Legion in Camden.
Burke and the former Arden Comins were married on April 10, 1959.
Burke was employed at Rome Strip Steel as a construction supervisor on steel bridges and buildings. He worked as the Town of Annsville Highway Superintendent retiring in 2001. He recently wrote a collection of Tug Hill stories, “A Lifetime on the Hill.” Mrs. Burke is a devoted wife and mother.
They re the parents of David, Steven and Jeffrey Burke, all of Taberg, and the late James Jr. who passed away in 2002. They have seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
