CCCC announces Presidents Active Lifestyle Award recipients
ROME — Thanks to the generosity of The Slocum-Dickson Foundation, Copper City Community Connection recognized its next group of members to achieve the Presidents Active Lifestyle Award.
Recipients include: Phyllis Didio, Brenda Reid, Jeanne McDowell, Priscilla Wiley, Ruth Weltz, Pat Wyman, Darlene Hertel, Barbara Hill, Mary McNeill, Paula Wells, Elizabeth Pettinelli, Lisa Sandefer, and Colleen Starr.
All members worked over an 8-week period to achieve the healthy eating and physical activity goals established by the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition. The awardees achieved 150 minutes of physical activity each week, along with meeting the healthy eating goals by eating six of the nine components of the healthy eating pattern or limiting added sugars, saturated fats or reducing sodium intake.
Copper City Community Connection is a community-based organization working to connect older adults, seniors, and the elderly to a healthy independent lifestyle through social, artistic, educational, and physical programs supporting independence and life within the community.
