Cazenovia College welcomes six new faculty members
CAZENOVIA — Cazenovia College has welcomed six new faculty members to campus:
• Jennifer Hamilton joins Cazenovia College as the program director and assistant professor in the sports management program.
Hamilton holds a bachelor’s degree in sport management degree from Brock University in Canada, and master’s and doctoral degrees in sport management from Florida State University.
• Heather Mooney joins the college as program director and assistant professor in criminal justice and homeland security studies.
Mooney has a bachelor’s degree from Clark University in sociology and gender, women’s and sexuality studies; a master’s degree in education and also in gender and cultural studies from Simmons University; and a doctorate in sociology from Boston University.
• Taylor Pelcher, a member of the college’s Class of 2017, was hired as a visiting instructor in the equine business management program.
She has a master’s degree in education from the State University of New York at Oswego. Pelcher earned a bachelor’s degree in management with an equine business management specialization form Cazenovia College.
Prior to her position at the college, Pelcher was a high school agricultural educator from 2018-2022.
• Erica D. Randall was hired as an associate lecturer of psychology for the human services program.
Randall has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Nazareth College; a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy; a master of social work degree, and a certificate of advanced studies in child therapy from Syracuse University.
• David Waite is now an associate lecturer of English at Cazenovia.
He has been teaching at Cazenovia as an adjunct professor since 2008. Waite has a master’s of fine arts degree in creative writing from Goddard College.
Prior to joining Cazenovia, Waite taught at Onondaga Community College and served as a tutor at OCC’s Learning Center.
His first collection of poetry, “The All-Night Diner Lights,” was published in 2018 by Stone Hole Press.
• Ryan Zlomek joins Cazenovia College in the visual communications program as an assistant professor in animation.
A graduate of Binghamton University and the University at Buffalo, Zlomek has a bachelor’s degree in Cinema; a bachelor’s degree in human development, and a master’s degree in media arts production.
Prior to Cazenovia, Zlomek taught at both of his alma maters before moving into teaching and administrative roles with independent schools with tenures at Washington Academy in East Machias, Maine, and at the Manlius Pebble Hill School in Syracuse.
