ROME — In honor of National Cat Lovers Month, Keaton & Lloyd Bookshop, 236 W. Dominick St., will present an event called Caturday on Saturday, Dec. 3, from noon to 2 p.m.

The program benefits Finnlands Fosters Rescue and Adoption Center.

At Caturday, the book shop will offer cat-themed items for sale and collect donations of cat food, litter, medicines, and other supplies. Attendees will have the chance to meet cats available for adoption and take selfies with the book shop’s resident feline, Carl LaFong.

“Our patrons love cats. It’s something inherent to readers,” said Keaton & Lloyd Owner Julie Whittemore. “We’re really hoping everyone comes out to support Finnlands Fosters because this community has a serious problem with stray cats. The organization takes care of as many cats as possible, but there are so many more who need attention and homes.”
