‘Cat Video Fest’ returns to theaters

Posted

In Partnership with Purrs and Whiskers, Cinema Capitol, 230 W. Dominick St., will present this year’s Cat Video Fest from Friday, Aug. 13, through Monday, Aug. 16.

The show is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and classic internet powerhouses.

Cat Video Fest is an experience only available in theaters and raises money for cats in need through partnerships with local cat charities and animal welfare organizations.

Purrs and Whiskers offers cat and kitten rescue in Oneida county, which helps by providing foster homes until cats are adopted. The organization also provides medical care to area strays. Representatives will be attending all screenings with information and a few furry friends to meet in the cinema lobby. They will also be collecting donations of cat-related items, such as food, toys, litter, etc., to benefit animals in need.

Cat Video Fest runs 70 minutes and is family-friendly. Show times are Friday at 4 and 7 p.m., Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m., and Monday at 7 p.m.

Masks are no longer required in the cinema for those who have been vaccinated.

Individuals who have not been vaccinated are still required to wear masks.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.romecapitol.com. Admission is $8; $7 for students and military; and $6 for Capitol “Friends.”
