GLENS FALLS — Congressional Candidate Matt Castelli has been endorsed by four additional unions, joining NYSUT, UAW and IBEW in their support for the NY-21 candidate. New York State AFL-CIO with 3000 affiliated unions and 2.5 million members, CSEA Local 1000, representing over 300,000 active and retired public and private sector employees in New York State; PEF, representing more than 23,000 state government workers; and SEIU 1199 representing over 23,000 people working in the care economy in Upstate New York.

“From employees of the state to local governments to the private sector, CSEA members provide the services that New Yorkers need and depend on every day,” said CSEA President Mary E. Sullivan. “As New York continues to come back from the COVID-19 pandemic, we need elected officials who will fight to maintain these services while keeping our workforce safe. CSEA is proud to endorse Matt Castelli’s candidacy for United States Congress, we are confident that he will stand with working people to make New York a better state.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsements of New York State AFL-CIO on behalf of their 3,000 affiliates, CSEA Local 1000, PEF, and SEIU 1199, representing hard working members who care for us, our kids and seniors, provide crucial social services, respond to emergencies, work in our jails and parole system, build our communities, and deliver the services that support all of us,” said Castelli, who is running against Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-21, Schuylerville. “Working people make up the backbone of our local communities, and they will always have my support.”
