Carol A. Martini Stanton

Carol A. Stanton, 64, of Palm Bay, FL, and formerly of Rome, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Health First William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, FL. She was born in Rome, NY, on December 24, 1956, daughter of the late Silvio and Helen Lucci Martini. Carol graduated Summa Cum Laude from State University of New York College of Technology, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Behavioral Science. On April 8, 1980, she married John A. Stanton in St John the Baptist Church, a union of forty years.

Carol was a “one of a kind.” She was a great wife, companion, daughter, and sister. She was a loving, kind, forgiving, honest, tolerant, tenacious and big hearted. Carol never spoke ill of people and fought for others. She was quick to listen, accept and care and slow to judge and criticize. Carol believed every story has two sides. She loved animals, nature and was a parent to a Humane Society graduate (Casey). Carol loved food, music and dancing. She never gave less than her best. Carol felt community involvement was extremely important and volunteered for over twenty years for the Palm Bay Police Dept. She never allowed cancer and medical problems define her or stop her from doing what she wanted and never complained about it either.

Carol was “a gift to me, shaped my life and I’LL LOVE HER FOREVER!”

Surviving besides her husband, John, Palm Bay, FL, are two sisters, Gale Hameline, and Jean (Peter) Gazitano, all of Rome; two brothers, James Martini, Palm Bay, FL, and John Martini, Rome. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Lynn (Richard) Ravens, John Hameline, Nicole (Lee) Fleming, Carol Gazitano and Lisa Gazitano; and great-nieces and nephews, Robert, Rosalia, Roman, Luca and Liam; inlaws, Mary (William) Lennon and Joseph (Mary) Stanton, both of Rome.

She was predeceased by her parents, Silvio and Helen Martini; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Mary Clare Stanton; and a brother-in-law, William J. Hameline III.

Funeral Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Rome.
