BOONVILLE — Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central New York has opened a location in Boonville, providing a host of services from pregnancy tests to parenting and life skill classes at its 325 Post St. offices.

The center is open Monday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and by appointment on other weekdays. Its first day of operation was Monday, Feb. 15.

“Over the years we have had clients from the Boonville area drive to our Rome or Utica location for services,” Paul Marshall, president and executive director of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central New York, said. “A few months ago the First Baptist Church in Boonville reached out to us, offering use of part of their building if we wanted to serve more people in that community.”

The Boonville site will also provide materials and referrals to other resources such as WIC and PCAP. There is never any charge for services. “Because all our services are free of charge, we do not require insurance or Medicaid,” Marshall said. “We will help anyone who comes to us with a need we can fill.”

The staff asks that clients access the center by using the back entrance on Erwin Street.

In depth information about the services Care Net can provide can be found online, on their website www.CareNetCares.com.

To make an appointment at the new Boonville location, call (315) 737-3036.

Care Net is not currently hiring for the Boonville location, but Marshall encourages those interested in employment to reach out via email at Carenet@carenetcny.org. Resumes will be kept on file for consideration should a need arise in the future.

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central NY was formed in 1989 to provide free, confidential services for women facing unplanned pregnancy. Over the years the organization has helped more than 30,000 individuals. They have locations all across Central New York, including offices in Utica, Rome, Camden, Herkimer, Oneida, Morrisville, Liverpool, and now, Boonville.

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central NY is non-profit corporation and is donor funded.
