The Capitol Theater invites local filmmakers of all means and skill levels to enter the “Murder, Madness, Mayhem and Monsters” short film showcase on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
Entries should be four minutes in length or shorter, and should be in or related to the horror genre. Select entries will be shown on the big screen ahead of the Capitol premiere of the feature film Mandy (2018), starring Nicolas Cage.
Entrants should submit their films by Sunday, Oct. 21. Submissions are accepted through the form at romecapitol.com, through emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or in DVD format at the Capitol box office.
Entry films can be silent, can include dialogue, or can be music videos, provided they meet fit the “Murder, Madness, Mayhem and Monsters” theme. Entrants must have the necessary rights and permissions for any music, trademarks, logos, copyrights or intellectual property that appears in their film. By entering the competition, entrants represent that they have secured all necessary rights, and the Capitol expressly disclaims liability for violations of intellectual property law.
The winning entries, in addition to being screened in the theater, will be featured on the Capitol’s website, and winning directors will receive four free Late Night Feature passes for Capitol Cinema.
