Canucks recall defenseman Holm from Comets


UTICA — The Vancouver Canucks recalled defenseman Philip Holm from the Utica Comets on Tuesday.

Holm has skated in 42 AHL games with the Comets this season, registering 29 points, 11 goals and 18 assists. Holm also leads Utica in power play goals with seven.

In a separate transaction, the Comets have signed defenseman Frankie Simonelli to a professional tryout contract.

Simonelli has skated in 46 games with the South Carolina Stingrays, tallying 30 points, eight goals and 22 assists. Simonelli is playing in his third professional season after coming out of the University of Wisconsin.
