Both Canastota and Sauquoit Valley field hockey goalkeepers turned in solid efforts Tuesday.

Canastota sophomore Alyssa Bonneau made two saves and freshman Brooke Roberts scored twice to help the Raiders earn a 4-0 non-league win over visiting Sauquoit Valley.

It was the first win of the season in three games this fall for Canastota, which was the Section III Class C champions last fall.

Senior Emily Forbes totaled 31 saves for Sauquoit Valley (1-1 overall).

Sophomore Juliana Dimao and senior Helen Shear each scored goals for Canastota.

CVA tops Herkimer

The Central Valley Academy girls field hockey team scored three times in the second half to nab a 3-1 non-league win over Herkimer on Tuesday.

Senior Claire Engel scored twice and assisted on the other goal to help CVA open the regular-season with a win.

Sophomore Trip Rowland added two assists. Senior Hannah Sanchez added the other goal for the Thunder.

No stats were available for Herkimer.
