CAMDEN — Camden Central School will hold a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration for the 2020-21 school year from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 5 and 6 at the district office, 51 Third St.
If registering for kindergarten, the child must be 5-years-old by Dec. 1 of this year. If registering for pre-kindergarten, the child must be 4-years-old by Dec. 1.
In order to register, a parent or guardian must bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization record and any custody paperwork, if applicable. If a child is already enrolled in the school district’s 2019-20 pre-kindergarten program, then they do not need to register for kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year.
The pre-kindergarten program is offered for free to district residents, providing certified teachers and assistants, transportation and parent involvement.
An evening district-wide Pre-K registration will also be held at Camden Elementary School from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12.
If parents are unable to register their child at this time, they should call the child’s home school and provide the secretary with their name and date of birth. This is so the district has a more accurate count of students to help plan for class sizes next year. Snow date for the Pre-K and kindergarten registration will be Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m., and 5:30-7 p.m. that evening.
