Camden teams all earn Scholar Athlete recognition


CAMDEN — All of the Camden Central School District’s 2018 fall varsity sports teams qualified for Scholar Athlete recognition from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, the district announced.

The recognition honors teams and individuals that excel in the classroom. They “work very hard throughout the year and deserve to be recognized for their academic success,” the district said.

To receive Scholar Athlete team recognition, a team’s average GPA (grade point average) for 75 percent of the roster must be greater than or equal to an average of 90 or higher.

“Congratulations to all of our student scholar athletes for their hard work and dedication both on the athletic field and in the classroom,” the Camden district said.

Teams include:



Boys soccer;

Girls soccer;

Boys cross country;

Girls cross country;

Field hockey;

Girls tennis; and

Girls bowling.
