SYRACUSE —The Camden girls and the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill boys bowling teams each finished in seventh place at the state championships over the weekend at AMF Strike ‘N Spare Lanes.
Camden’s Erin Bourgeois took home a third place bronze medal for her 1,181 series over six games capping off what coach Jeff Klatt called “a fantastic bowling career for the Blue Devils.”
The VVS boys were led by Gabe Miller, whose 1,209 series over six games for a 201 average put him seventh overall during the Division II team competition.
Mackenzie O’Herien of VVS competed in the composite competition. She qualified by having the top average in the Tri-Valley League. She finished in 33rd, with a total score of 1,133 for a 188 average.
On Friday, the Rome Free Academy girls team finished seventh in the Division I team competition for large schools.
