Burglary charged at Utica apartment
UTICA — A 30-year-old man is accused of kicking his way into a Utica apartment and confronting the resident inside, according to the Utica Police Department.
Police said Ozell Bembry, of Utica, kicked in the door at an acquaintance's apartment in the 100 block of Genesee Street around 7:15 a.m. Thursday. Police said Bembry threatened the person inside before grabbing their cell phone and leaving.
Bembry was later located and turned himself in. Police said Bembry is charged with one count each of second-degree burglary and petty larceny. He is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court.
