Brooklyn Pickle opening in Utica delayed until April 24

UTICA — It has been said that good things come to those who wait.

Brooklyn Pickle's Utica location was originally supposed to open in March, then it was set to open on Monday, April 17. Now, it will now open a week later on Monday, April 24.

According to Brooklyn Pickle’s Facebook page, the delay in pushing the grand opening another week was due to construction setbacks that were out of their control.

The popular Syracuse-based establishment, known for its giant sandwiches, quick service and being a destination for many people in the Mohawk Valley to visit before returning to the area, will open its doors at 600 State St. for the first time at 10 a.m. on the 24th, followed by a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m.

The Utica location’s anticipated hours of operation are scheduled to be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. What will set the Utica store apart from the other Syracuse locations is that it will be the first Brooklyn Pickle store to offer beer on its menu.

Brooklyn Pickle currently has three locations in Syracuse, with Utica becoming their fourth. A Brooklyn Pickle in North Carolina is expected to open this summer, becoming the first location outside of New York state.
