During this election campaign we should pay close attention to the vastly different healthcare records of Rep. Anthony J. Brindisi and candidate Claudia Tenney.
An unquestioning Trump loyalist, Tenney voted to replace Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) with the Republicans’ American Health Care Act, which was pulled largely because it failed to adequately protect 54 million non-elderly people with pre-existing conditions. Now, in the midst of a deadly pandemic, Tenney supports Trump Republicans who are petitioning the Supreme Court to declare “Obamacare” unconstitutional, thereby stripping health insurance from 23 million people.Remember that on November 3rd.
Obama’s ACA prohibits insurance companies from refusing to cover pre-existing conditions and charging higher premiums. Recognizing that the well-functioning Obama plan can be improved, Rep. Brindisi joined fellow House Democrats in passing three major health care acts.
— Lower drug costs now: authorizes price negotiation.
— Conduct insurance exchange outreach and marketing.
— Protecting Americans with pre-existing conditions: prohibits states from opting out of required coverage.
Will a Trump loyalist, whose party after ten years has not presented a workable health care plan, protect you and your family? I don’t think so.
Re-elect Congressman Brindisi, the candidate who works to protect all of us.
