Brindisi has strong record of cooperative success

As evidenced by her commercials, it appears that Claudia Tenney is having a hard time running against Rep. Anthony Brindisi’s strong record of success in his first term as NY22’s congressional representative. Her commercials are short on facts and high on yelling, so I’d like to correct some of her claims:

Tenney claim: Brindisi voted to defund the police.

FACT: Rep. Brindisi wrote the bi-partisan bill with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., to STOP cities and counties from defunding police departments.

Tenney claim: Brindisi is a Speaker Nancy Pelosi “lapdog.”

FACT: Brindisi was just named the most bi-partisan lawmaker in Congress. And his work with both Democrats and Republicans has allowed him to get four bills signed into law by the president. In her two years in Congress, Tenney wasn’t able to get any bills passed. This includes the SPOONSS Act that she couldn’t get passed even though her party controlled all three branches of government. Brindisi got it done!

Tenney claim: Brindisi hasn’t supported veterans.

FACT: Brindisi serves on the House Veterans Affairs and Armed Forces Committees. He has worked on bi-partisan legislation on suicide prevention, combatting PTSD, and keeping the local Bainbridge VA Clinic open, among other efforts.

Anthony Brindisi has done everything Claudia didn’t or couldn’t. He’s held numerous open town halls in every county in our district. He has worked across the aisle effectively. His leadership skills were quickly evident to his colleagues who installed him as one of the chairs of the Blue Dog Coalition, “dedicated to pursuing fiscally-responsible policies, ensuring a strong national defense, and transcending party lines”. He’s a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of Republicans and Democrats dedicated to finding common ground on key issues.

Whether you vote absentee, vote early, or vote on Election Day, vote for Anthony Brindisi for re-election as our congressional representative.
