TOWN OF BRIDGEWATER — A 26-year-old man was charged with rape after an investigation revealed he had sexual contact with a girl under the age of 17.
State Police Major Darrin S. Pitkin, and Oneida County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, director of the county Child Advocacy Center, said an investigation revealed that between June and July of this year, Logan M. West, of Bridgewater, had sexual contact with the girl at a residence in Bridgewater.
As a result, West was charged with third-degree rape, a class E felony; third-degree criminal sexual act, a class E felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. He was held at county jail to await Centralized Court arraignment.
Pitkin said the victim was offered services through the Oneida County CAC.
