Brake light failure leads to DWI charge in Rome

ROME — A 61-year-old man was charged in Rome with drunken driving Monday afternoon, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Joseph E. Closinski, of Rome, was pulled over for having a brake light out in Rome at 5:15 p.m. Monday. Once stopped, police said Closinski registered a blood alcohol content of 0.08%. 

Closinski is charged with one count each of driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
